Meet Tutor Ryan Gaynor

I have a Business Management degree and Dance minor from Loyola Marymount University, an acting background, and years of experience as an educator at a private learning academy. In addition to learning the fundamentals through my traditional education, my experience in performance taught me invaluable lessons, methods of communication, and behavioral understanding. This combined experience is the basis of the RGTUTORS method of teaching and how we interact with our students.

In my 14 plus years of experience as a private tutor, I have developed this personal philosophy and shared with my team. It’s not just about doing the material together, it’s about establishing a relationship with the students and relating to their experiences. This helps them feel heard and seen, which allows them to not only grasp the material, but instill confidence in themselves and their understanding of it. We teach them how to study properly, how to use logic, check their work efficiently, and how to apply test taking strategies. Having students recite their work out loud while writing it down is one of the keys to building retention for anything. This experience will change how they feel about school and guide them to a superior level.

Ryan’s Tutoring Focus

While the RGTUTORS team offers instruction in multiple subjects (including Calculus A, B, & C) and test prep, my personal focus is on mathematics. I work with every level from elementary up to Trigonometry/PreCalculus, as well as high school entrance exams and SAT/ACT prep.

On a Personal Note

In my free time I love to be outdoors, exercising, playing basketball, hiking, going on adventures and dancing. I also love watching tv shows, movies, especially the comic book movies, the occasional interesting documentary and getting into reading informative books. Traveling is a big passion of mine and I’m excited about all the forests and beaches I will visit next!
