Meet Tutor Reed Heisley-Shellaby

Hello! I'm excited to make history come alive for students and help them develop critical thinking skills. I've tutored for AP History exams since 2013 and seen students struggle with different teachers and getting the feedback they need to succeed. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Latin and Greek, and from UCLA's Teacher Education Program with a credential in Social Science and a Master of Education.

Reed’s Tutoring Focus

I make sure students use their own learning styles to cultivate good study habits and resources. Many of my students received 4's and 5's on the various AP History exams and were able to increase their grades to A's and B's in difficult AP classes. I also tutor English essay writing for any level.

On A Personal Note

In my free time I do digital painting and am learning 3D modeling software for making environments and props for video games.
