The History of RGTUTORS
Hi everyone, my name is Ryan Gaynor and I founded RGTUTORS in 2008 with the hope of engaging young minds in a new way that not only educates them, but truly builds their confidence in what they are learning. I have a team of highly educated and experienced tutors who also specialize in interpersonal communication. We offer private one on one sessions in multiple subjects virtually (Multiple Timezones), in many parts of LA, & Santa Monica (with respect to COVID-19). Our tutoring sessions are customized to each student’s specific educational needs.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people and I’ve always loved math, logic, and problem solving. I believe it is really important to teach people the art of problem solving that can translate to their everyday life. So when I was 22, fresh out of college, I reached out to everyone I knew to see if anyone knew a family who needed a math tutor. One family got back to me and that was all it took to get started. I am so thankful that I get to work in a field where I can help students not only succeed but feel comfortable in their math class and now with adding more tutors to my roster we can help them in multiple subjects.
Philosophy of RGTUTORS
In my 14 plus years of experience as a private tutor, I have developed this personal philosophy and shared with my team. It’s not just about doing the material together, it’s about establishing a relationship with the students and relating to their experiences. This helps them feel heard and seen, which allows them to not only grasp the material, but instill confidence in themselves and their understanding of it. During our personalized online tutoring sessions, we teach them how to study properly, how to use logic, check their work efficiently, and how to apply test taking strategies. Having students recite their work out loud while writing it down is one of the keys to building retention for anything. This experience will change how they feel about school and guide them to a superior level.
Online Tutoring
When Covid hit, we all switched to online learning. At first, I was a little nervous about it, but one-on-one learning with the technology that we have has proven to be just as effective. The ability to share screen, digitally write on the screen, and more helps us help our students really improve their grades and over all academics. I am so happy with the evolution of my business and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
